Oliver Reinhardt has visited the research group of Professor Jakub Bijak at the University of Southampton. In his ERC project "Bayesian Agent-Based Population Studies", Professor Bijak leads an interdisciplinary and international research team of demographers, psychologists, and computer scientists based in Southampton and Rostock to develop a ground-breaking simulation model of international migration. Thereby, the foundation of the model on results from cognitive psychology and the quantification of the model's uncertainties are put into focus.
As part of the project, Oliver will develop new computational methods for implementing the model, conducting complex simulation experiments, and managing the different kinds of artifacts (e.g., data sources and results from psychological experiments) contributing to the simulation model.
