Glenn Skrzypczak participated as Web Technologies Expert at WorldSkills Shanghai 2026

From September 22 to 27, 2026, Shanghai hosted WorldSkills, the world championship of vocational skills, held every two years. Around 1,400 young professionals from across the globe competed in more than 60 disciplines, ranging from crafts and industry to IT and services. Our PhD candidate Glenn Skrzypczak represented Germany as Expert for Web Technologies. In this role, he spent months preparing German competitor Miklas Schmidt for the competition. On site, he worked alongside the experts from other nations to run the competition, assess the competitors’ performance, and exchange views on current issues in vocational education and training in the field of information technology.

In the Web Technologies discipline, Miklas Schmidt placed 9th among 33 participating nations and won a Medal for Excellence. This award recognizes competitors who achieve outstanding performance at an international top level. We congratulate Miklas Schmidt on this achievement!
